To commemorate a phat record deal with K-Pop phenoms NCT 127, Capitol Music Group boss Steve Barnett and Caroline Prez Jacqueline Saturn pose with SM Group CEO Young-Min Kim and SM Entertainment boss Nikki Semin Han. NCT, in case you’re wondering, stands for “Neo Culture Technology,” and 127 is the longitudinal coordinate for Seoul. Barnett expressed his excitement about the venture, noting “The band’s potential for global success is virtually unlimited, and SM Entertainment is a powerhouse that we hope to be in business with for many years to come.” Saturn then uttered one of the Korean phrases she’d fastidiously memorized, which translates to “Please enjoy this avocado toast, a local delicacy.”
NCT 127, which has 4.5m Instagram followers and was the first K-Pop act to earn Apple Music’s Up Next designation, kicks off its North American tour on 4/24 at Newark’s Prudential Center; expect big TV and other looks after that.
