WBR SIGNS ALBERT

Nate Albert, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones co-founder turned label exec, has joined Warner Bros. Records as Executive Vice President of A&R.

Most recently a senior A&R exec at Capitol Records, he’ll be based in Los Angeles and report to WBR Co-Chairman & CEO Aaron Bay-Schuck. He’s best known for singing The Weeknd while at Republic and bringing Maggie Rogers to Capitol.

“As we continue to expand our global A&R presence, Nate comes to us with a musician’s unique sensibility and a brilliant ear for authentic, compelling artists,” said Bay-Schuck. “He’s one of the most astute, intuitive, and inspired A&R people in the business, and the diversity and quality of the music that Nate has championed speaks for itself.”

Albert co-founded the ska punk band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones when he was 13. He became an A&R consultant for Republic/Universal in 2006 and spent a decade at the label, signing Phantogram, Anberlin and others, while overseeing the release of the Les Misérables soundtrack album.

At Capitol, which he joined just over three years ago, he worked on projects by Cold War Kids, Troye Sivan and Calum Scott.

“I’ve long admired Warner Bros.’ deep-seated support of artistic creativity and originality,” said Albert. “There is extraordinary talent all across the globe looking for the right team to help them magnify their visions and build long-term careers.”

He promises to continue wearing his Red Sox hat to remind Dodger fans at WBR of last year’s World Series.
