WHO RUN THE WORLD?

In celebration of International Women's Day (3/8), Capitol Music Group hosted quite the shindig Wednesday night. The first of many female-centric events, which went down at Casita Hollywood, was packed with music, thought-provoking discussions, rosé and an array of networking opportunities for young professionals.

In the photo above, you'll find three humans who could easily destroy us in a bar fight with one arm behind their backs: CMG COO Michelle Jubelirer, SVP Global Creative Amber Grimes and artist Grace Weber.

Grimes hosted a happy hour, which was followed by a performance from Weber—the Milwaukee-bred, Brooklyn-based artist with powerful pipes and credits that include Chance the Rapper f/Kanye West & Chicago Children's Choir's "All We Got," the opening track on Chance's widely acclaimed Coloring Book. Notably, the evening also included insight from a panel of three women currently succeeding in male-dominated industries: ESPN SportsCenter Coordinating Producer Sandy Nunez, Artist Marketing Manager Moya Nkruma, who runs the urban artist marketing division for Fender Musical Instruments Corporation and Briana Valdez, who launched L.A. dining hotspot HomeState in 2013 before expanding to two locations (with a third opening this spring).

“As International Women’s Day approaches, we celebrate all women, from intern to executive, who empower one another to create a more gender-balanced world," shared Grimes. "We hope our guests at last night’s event found both inspiration and information that will help them realize their goals. As a company, Capitol Music Group prioritizes fostering an authentic culture of inclusion.”
