Alexa is entering the ticketing business. Ticketmaster and Amazon have partnered to make ticket-buying as simple as asking Alexa-enabled devices, such as Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, to line up some seats.
The request can be as wide open as “Alexa, open Ticketmaster” or “Alexa, ask Ticketmaster to find events this weekend” or be for specific shows or sporting events. By linking Ticketmaster and Alexa accounts, the purchase can be simplified as well.
“This new integration with Alexa will offer yet another avenue for fans to access the best live events, allowing them to discover and buy tickets using only their voice,” said Dan Armstrong, SVP and GM of Distributed Commerce at Ticketmaster.
Discovering and buying tickets with Ticketmaster on Alexa-enabled devices is currently available in the U.S. only so stop getting mad when it won’t give you any info on Arsenal’s next match.
