TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

Shazam users were watching a lot of TV last week. The five greatest gainers on the Shazam USA Top 100 all benefited from synchs, three of the titles being covers.

Jain’s “Makeba” (Spookland), which got thumbs wagging in March when it was featured in a Levi's ad, was placed in an episode of DRUCK, the German version of Skam now in its second season. Lianne La Havas’ version of Burt Bacharach & Hal David’s “Say a Little Prayer” (Warner) got a boost from NBC’s This is Us.

Lauren Daigle’s “Look Up Child” (Centricity/12Tone), the most recent release among the Top 5, has a good look on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. Toploader covered King Harvest’s 1972 hit “Dancing in the Moonlight” for a movie in 2002 and it flashes a move thanks to Netflix’s The Umbrella Factory.

Finally, Sam Smith’s ballad version of Whitney Houston’s 1985 hit “How Will I Know” (Capitol) gets a lift from ABC’s A Million Little Things.

In the U.K., the new single from P!nk is the biggest mover just ahead of BRITS winners The 1975 and the oft-licensed “Rise Up” from Andra Day.
