The 1975 were the big winners at the 2019 BRIT Awards, taking home multiple trophies for British Group and MasterCard British Album of the Year. Calvin Harris/Dua Lipa, Drake, Ariana Grande, The Carters, Jorja Smith and George Ezra, among others, also picked up gongs Wednesday night at the O2 Arena in London.
P!nk was honored with the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award, serving as the first international artist to receive the award and joining a class of previous recipients Sir Elton John, David Bowie, Queen, Spice Girls, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Oasis, Robbie Williams and Blur.
As for label-share at The BRITs, David Joseph and Jason Iley have plenty to celebrate with UMG and Sony taking home a bulk of the gongs. UMG earned wins for Album, British Group and Int'l Male & Female. Sony took down British Male & Female Solo, Breakthrough Act, British Single and Video of the Year.
