Freebandz/Epic star Future appears at the top of our latest Top 50 Chart, as his Future Hndrxx Presents: The Wizrd crosses the finish line with more than 125k.
The next-biggest bow belongs to Capitol’s Maggie Rogers, whose Heard It in a Past Life debuts at #3 with approximately 47k. That said, Rogers’ set is actually the week’s big winner when it comes to pure album sales, beating Future’s 12k with a number close to 35k. Forget celebratory champagne; Barnett will have the baked “Alaska.”
The only other new release to be found in the Top 20 is Cody Johnson’s Ain’t Nothin’ to It (Warner Bros. Nashville), which earns 35k to land at #7. Queen’s Greatest Hits 1 (Hollywood) does manage to re-enter at #14, though, as the band’s biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, nabs a Best Picture Oscar nom.
However, Crush’s Weezer deserves a nod; the band’s album of incredibly nostalgic covers comes in at #29 with 18k, even though it isn’t benefiting from a full chart week. The project dropped by surprise on Wednesday night.
When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 43%, WMG follows with 31% and SME is #3 with 21%, while the indies claim 5%.
Streeting this week are sets by K-Bahn/RCA’s Backstreet Boys, Columbia’s Bring Me the Horizon and Republic’s Julia Michaels.
In other news, our Nancy Pelosi back tattoo is healing quite nicely. Thanks for asking.
