IT'S OFFICIAL: SCOTT TO THE SUPER BOWL

The NFL has officially announced that Travis Scott will appear as a special guest, along with Big Boi, for Maroon 5's previously confirmed Super Bowl LIII halftime show—set for 2/3 in Atlanta.

Rumors of Scott's involvement have been swirling for some time now, with many onlookers chiming in to voice their opinions. An array of celebrities and tastemakers had pushed musical stars to boycott the gig, due to the NFL's treatment of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

That said, Scott's agreement arrives in tandem with news of charitable conditions, as he makes a $500k donation in partnership with the NFL to Dream Corps—a "social justice accelerator" that supports "economic, environmental and criminal justice innovators."

"I back anyone who takes a stand for what they believe in," he said in a statement. "I know being an artist that it's in my power to inspire. So before confirming the Super Bowl halftime performance, I made sure to partner with the NFL on this important donation. I am proud to support Dream Corps and the work they do that will hopefully inspire and promote change."

And, according to Dream Corps, the NFL has launched what's being called the Inspire Change platform to "[showcase] the collaborative efforts of players, owners and the league to create positive change in communities across the country." More on that here.
