THE NEW ONE IS "FIRE"

"Lost in the Fire" by Gesaffelstein & The Weeknd is here, with a stylishly chiaroscuro video directed by Manu Cossu (viewable below). The Columbia track—which happens to be the lead cut on Spotify's New Music Friday playlist—is a harbinger of Gesaffelstein's forthcoming sophomore set, Hyperion; the French DJ/producer will get big looks on both coasts this spring, starting with Coachella in April and followed by the Governor's Ball in NYC in May.

So why is a guy born Mike Lévy sporting that heavy Teutonic moniker, you ask? Well, it seems "Gesaffelstein" is a portmanteau combining the German word Gesamtkunstwerk (roughly meaning "art that embraces many forms") and Albert Einstein. Hey, you asked. You did ask, didn't you?
