FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS FROM iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Sam Smith’s duet with Fifth Harmony’s Normani steps into the Top 10 on iTunes songs chart while another Fifth Harmony member has a single knocking on the Top 10’s door this flipover Friday.

Smith and Normani’s “Dancing With a Stranger” (Capitol) opens at #4, a strong showing for a record that came about when the two were recording next door to one another.

Normani's groupmate, Lauren Jauregui, sits at #11 with “More Than That” (SYCO/Columbia) while Lana Del Rey’s lower case Wednesday release, “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have—but I have it” (Interscope), is #13. Khalid f/Kane Brown’s “Saturday Nights” (RCA) is #14.

Over at albums, Randy Houser’s Magnolia (This is Hit/Stone Creek) blossoms at #3 while the other newcomers are a barrage of metal.

The fifth album from Chicago metalcore act Born of Osiris, The Simulation (Sumerian), throws down at #10; Verkligheten (Nuclear Blast), the 11th album from Sweden’s Soilwork, digs in at #11; and the first album in four years from the Ukraine’s Jinjer, Micro (Napalm), drops in at #19.

This morning, the iTunes Top 10 is graced with Sony Legacy’s 2001 compilation The Very Best of Daryl Hall & John Oates and London Philharmonic’s The 50 Greatest Pieces of Classical Music (X5) from 2009. Sale pricing is also helping prop up hits packages from Journey, Dolly Parton, Bob Seger, Red Hot Chili Peppers and others.
