WOMEN IN MUSIC DATABASE SET FOR LAUNCH
Early next year, She Is the Music will launch the SITM Database that will be the music industry’s most comprehensive source to discover, connect and create with women working in music.
The platform will serve as an inclusive directory, with profiles vetted and verified for accuracy. It will include female songwriters, engineers, producers, studio positions and live / touring professionals.
The database is part of SITM’s program to increase job opportunities and grow the talent pipeline for women in music. SITM was created earlier this year in response to a music industry study conducted by the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative that revealed distressingly low percentages of women working in music.
Additionally, SITM announced the formation of Creator and Executive Committees to advise the nonprofit.
The Board of Directors/Co-Founders are Alicia Keys, Universal Music Publishing Group Global Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson, WME Partner and Head of East Coast Music Samantha Kirby Yoh, and Ann Mincieli of AK-Worldwide and Jungle City Studios.
