TROY AND JODY TO TURN THE SILVER SCREEN PURPLE

A movie project is underway, spearheaded by Prince estate advisor/Atom Factory chief Troy Carter and UMPG Chairman Jody Gerson, that gathers a number of the Purple One's songs into an original, fictional narrative. The film will go through Universal Pictures, which has picked up the rights to the songs; given the huge success of jukebox musical flicks like Bohemian Rhapsody and the Mamma Mia franchise, as well as originals like La La Land, A Star Is Born and The Greatest Showman, the time would be appear to be very ripe.

Carter and Gerson will serve as executive producers on the project, with Uni Pictures Prexy of Global Film Music and Publishing Mike Knobloch riding herd on the film side.

We look forward to hearing Benedict Cumberbatch's rendition of "Raspberry Beret."
