Believing the old saw “rock & roll will never die,” live entertainment exec Tony Guanci has formed EDGEOUT Records to find and develop the next generation of rock bands. Universal Music Group will handle global distribution, marketing and promotion.
EDGEOUT intends to act like the labels of the ‘70s—minus the hookers and blow—by developing artists’ overall sound, live stage performance and image/branding through its artist development program. Besides making records, the company’s artists will be touring heavily.
“More than any other genre of music, successful rock bands have historically built their fanbase through touring and live performances,” said Guanci, EDGEOUT’s Founder and Chairman. “At EDGEOUT, I plan to use my 30 years of experience and connections in touring and promotion to ensure our artists have access to the most coveted tours and festivals, which will allow them to organically reach new audiences.”
Co-founder Cheryl Benson-Guanci is the label’s Head of Artist Development and A&R.
The HITS house band will be submitting demos once we figure out the bridge to “Smoke on the Water.”
