U.K. MIDWEEKS: THE 1975 HEAD FOR THIRD #1

The 1975 are heading for their third Official Albums #1 with A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships (Dirty Hit/Polydor) leading the midweek race with 18k combined sales. Over on singles, Ariana Grande is holding on at #1 for a fifth week.

Behind The 1975, the second highest new albums entry is Katherine Jenkins with Guiding Light (Decca) starting out at #9.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's new recordings with Buddy Holly’s vocals, True Love Ways (Decca), rises six places to #6, while Michael Buble’s Christmas (Reprise) is currently up five to #11.

Clean Bandit’s sophomore album, What is Love? (Atlantic), is a new entry at #13, and the David Bowie live album Glastonbury 2000 (Parlophone) starts at #15.

On the Official Singles midweeks, the video release for Grande’s “thank u, next” (Island) has given the track another boost—it currently has a 13.5k combined sales lead ahead of Ava Max, whose “Sweet but Psycho” (Atlantic) rises four places to #2. Further down, 6ix9ine leaps 33 slots to #5 with “Kika” f/Tory Lanez (Scumgang). Two more songs from the rapper's new album, Dummy Boy, are on track to enter this week's Top 40, with “Mama” f/Nicki Minaj at #17 and “Tic Toc” f/Lil Baby at #32.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without Mariah Carey's “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (Columbia) returning to the Top 10, and the track is currently up 27 spots to #7.

James Arthur & Anne-Marie's rendition of “Rewrite The Stars” from The Greatest Showman: Reimagined (Atlantic) is up nine to #8, and Mark Ronson's new track with Miley Cyrus, “Nothing Breaks Like A Heart” (Columbia), starts at #9.
