With a remarkably low 13 tweets total, and despite the fact that she hasn't tweeted at all since June of this year, Taylor Swift has been determined to be the most influential person on the platform by social media monitoring company Brandwatch.
Swift posts more regularly on Instagram and Tumblr; in fact, an IG post she made shortly before the midterm elections where the Nashville pop star broke her political silence by urging her 112m fans to register to vote, created a massive surge of over 65k registrations in the 24-hour period afterwards, according to Vote.org.
"The accounts were ranked according to a selection of criteria that added together to create their influence score," Brandwatch says of their Twitter research. "This is a measure of how influential an account is over time, based on the level of genuine engagement they are creating. While lots of followers, retweets and replies will help, the more influential the people they engage with, the better the score."
Swift has 83.1m Twitter followers.
