JOHN LEWIS CELEBRATES ELTON FOR CHRISTMAS

Elton John’s career is run in reverse in the John Lewis Christmas advert, starting in a dressing room on his current farewell tour and wrapping on a long-ago Christmas Day back in Pinner with mum.

The 2-minute-plus clip hits highlights similar to the ones seen in the first trailer for the Elton biopic, Rocketman, that’s due in May. The big difference? This one gushes over the history awash in sentimentality as Elton sings Bernie Taupin’s touching words from their first hit. Grab a tissue and click play.
