Billboard's recent story about the contest to acquire Big Machine being down to one major and one other suitor turns out to be—wait for it—total bullshit. Insiders who are close to the process say more than one major music group remains in the mix, as well as more than one bidder from outside the biz. They got one thing right: The bidding has indeed climbed over $300m.
