U.K. CHARTS: JESS GLYNNE SCORES
SECOND #1

Jess Glynne has a second U.K. Official Albums #1 with Always In Between (Atlantic) on 36k combined sales. Over on the singles chart, Little Mix have the highest new entry with “Woman Like Me” f/Nicki Minaj (Syco) at #5.

Always In Between is the follow-up to 2015’s I Cry When I Laugh, which hit the top on 60k sales and spawned three Top 5 singles. The first song for this latest campaign, “I’ll Be There,” hit #1 earlier this year and follow-up “All I Am” peaked at #7. Despite physical sales representing around 30% of the British albums market, sixty-seven per cent of the sales for Always in Between were physical. Streaming and downloads shared an equal split on the rest.

Behind Glynne, the second highest new albums entry this week is keyboardist Rick Wakeman at #7 with Piano Odyssey (Sony Classical). Karen Glauber is currently singing along with every track.

Elvis Costello & The Imposters end the week at #14 with Look Now (Decca), Quavo starts at #16 with his solo debut, Quavo Huncho (Virgin EMI), while John Grant ends the week at #17 with Love Is Magic (Bella Union). Rising star Ella Mai’s self-titled debut album on Polydor charts at #18.

On the Official Singles Chart, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith have a sixth non-consecutive week at #1 with “Promises” (Columbia). Last week’s #1, “Funky Friday” (Neighbourhood) by Dave f/Fredo finishes just over 1k combined sales behind and is the most streamed song of the week with 7.13m plays.

“Happier” (Positiva) by Marshmello f/Bastille stays at #3, and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from A Star Is Born is up two places to #4.

Behind “Woman Like Me” — the first track from Little Mix’s upcoming fifth album — Kodak Black is the second highest new entry with “Zeze” f/Travis Scott and Offset (Atlantic) at #11. Bad Bunny's Drake collaboration “MIA” (Warner Bros.) enters at #13.

Further down, there are big climbs for French Montana’s “No Stylist” f/Drake (Black Butter), up from #29 to #19, and DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki” (Polydor) f/Selena Gomez, Cardi B and Ozuna zooms 12 spots to #21.
