SX DOES THE NUMBERS

SoundExchange paid out $209.3m in sound recording performance royalties to recording artists and rights holders in the third quarter of 2018, a 37.2% increase over the same quarter the previous year.

For the year, the company has distributed $607.9m, a 24% spike over the first nine months of 2017. The company released the figures in its digital radio report.

The number of recipients is up nearly 8% to 37,066 and the company saw a 6.5% increase in the number of new registrations (8,795).
