U.K. MIDWEEKS: GLYNNE’S IN BETWEEN DAYS

Jess Glynne is heading for her second Official Albums #1 with Always In Between (Atlantic) outselling nearest rival, the A Star Is Born soundtrack (Polydor), by 2:1 at midweek stage. Over on singles, “Woman Like Me” (Syco) by Little Mix f/Nicki Minaj has entered straight in at the top.

Glynne previously hit #1 in 2015 with her debut, I Cry When I Laugh, which has since sold more than a million copies. The campaign for Always In Between has spanned one #1 single and two Top 10s in total.

Elsewhere in the Top 5, keyboardist Rick Wakeman is set for his highest charting set in 43 years with Piano Odyssey (Sony Classical) at #5.

Elvis Costello & The Imposters are on course for their best ever U.K. chart position as a collective with Look Now (Decca) at #7, while John Grant is on the cusp of a second Top 10 record with Love Is Magic (Bella Union) at #9.

David Bowie box set Loving The Alien (1983-1988) (Parlophone) impacts at #12, two places ahead of Primal Scream—Give Out But Don't Give Up: The Original Memphis Recordings (SMUK) at #14.

Kurt Vile enters at #15 with Bottle It In (Matador), while Quavo starts at #16 with his solo debut, Quavo Huncho (Virgin EMI). Finally, rising star Ella Mai’s self-titled debut album on Polydor is set for a Top 40 debut, currently at #21.

On the Official Singles midweek chart, it’s a tight race at the top with less than 2k combined sales separating the Top 3. Little Mix are currently #1, followed closely by “Promises” (Columbia) by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith, and “Funky Friday” (Neighbourhood) by Dave f/Fredo.

Elsewhere in the Top 5, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” from A Star Is Born is up one place to #5.
