COLUMBIA'S STEVENS IN A STRATEGIC MOVE

Lee Leipsner has upped Pop Promotion exec Matt Stevens to Vice President, Promotion and Market Strategy, at Columbia Records.

While he will work closely with Columbia format executives and regional representatives on promo campaigns and breaking new artists, Stevens will also collaborate with all front-line departments in the analysis of audience consumption data and develop and execute promotion strategies for the Columbia roster.

“I have watched Matt hone his promotion instincts for more than a decade,” said Leipsner, Columbia’s EVP, Promotion. “His skill in identifying a spark in the market and magnifying it, coupled with his ability to cultivate key relationships has made him an asset to the entire department. His unique, analytical approach to promotion will continue to serve him well in this expanded role.”

Stevens has been with Columbia since 2005 and over the last 13 years he has been a Regional Promotion Manager, handled National Pop Promotion in Los Angeles and San Francisco, and Senior Director, Pop Promotion, in New York. He is currently spearheading the launch of LSD and Silk City.
