AMERICANA ORG GETS THE BLUES

John Prine, Bob Weir, Lee Ann Womack, Shemekia Copeland, Joe Louis Walker and others will perform at "Across the Great Divide," a first-ever benefit concert for The Americana Music Association and The Blues Foundation. It takes place 10/19 at the Ace Theatre in Los Angeles.

Lucinda Williams, Doyle Bramhall II, Larkin Poe and Tash Neal, plus surprise guests are also on the bill. Jimmy Vivino will lead the house band.

“While The Blues Foundation and the Americana Music Association have had a strong working relationship behind the scenes for many years now, I am especially excited for this opportunity to publicly spread the word of our missions together during what I know will be a unique and special night of music,” said Blues Foundation President & CEO Barbara Newman.

Americana Music Association Executive Director Jed Hilly chimed in, “The intersection of Americana and the Blues is a place of integrity, passion and love of American roots traditions.”

Concert organizer Greg Williamson, the founder of UpperWest Music Group, noted, “These two organizations represent some of the most significant artists in American music."

Pre-sale tickets go on sale Thursday and tickets for the public go live on Friday.
