Ariana Grande's much-anticipated fourth studio album, Sweetener (Republic) has spiced up the flipover Friday Top 10, rising to #1 at iTunes and #6 at Apple Music. Meanwhile, Aretha Franklin’s catalog is receiving considerable respect from fans.
Both versions of Grande’s Sweetener appear on the two charts; the clean version is #7 at iTunes and #13 at Apple Music. Beyond current single “God is a woman,” her top seller is “breathin.”
Cole Swindell’s third album, All of It (Warner Nashville) is #3 followed by Death Cab For Cutie's Thank You For Today (Atlantic) at #4 and Blue October's I Hope You're Happy(Up/Down-Brando) at #5.
Young Thug & Young Stoner Life’s Music’s Slime Language (YSL) is #9 at iTunes and #4 at Apple Music. Also new at Apple Music: the Wednesday release from Republic’s Amine, Onepointfive, is #11.
On the R-E-S-P-E-C-T front, seven Franklin tracks are in the Top 20, among them “Respect,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and “Freeway of Love.” She has 14 tracks in the Top 40.
At iTunes albums, led by the Rhino/Atlantic 30 Greatest Hits, a dozen Franklin albums are in the Top 50, including Amazing Grace: The Complete Recordings (Rhino/Atlantic) at #8 and the Queen of Soul compilation at #11.
The top newcomers at iTunes singles are Janet Jackson & Daddy Yankee’s “Made for Now” (Cinq) at #6 and YouTube star Gabbie Hanna’s “Honestly,” a Wednesday release, at #10.
