MusiCares chairman Michael McDonald (Mick Management) and the L.A. and NYC ambassadors of MusiCares would like you to know about two big ol' parties coming up, one on either coast. These two events offer you the opportunity to (a) get festive, a rare thing in these difficult times, and (b) aid a VERY worthy cause.
The L.A. event takes place at 7pm on 8/9 at Village Recorders, with performances from Frenship, Magic Giant, DJ Equal and special guests TBA and our favorite name of all, Open Bar.
New York's gathering will convene on the Sony rooftop on 8/22 at 6:30pm. Expect a performance by Arizona and a DJ set from Amrit. Sponsors include Tito's vodka and Lagunitas beer, so you're covered for beverages; looks like it's BYO weed. We kid! Obey local ordinances! Stay in school!
What is MusiCares, you ask? It's a Recording Academy-funded charity to provide "preventative, recovery and emergency programs to address financial, personal and medical health issues." It's already helped a lot of people we know and deserves your 1,000% support.
The preceding message fulfills our weekly quota of sincerity. You're welcome.
