After a killer seven-year run, Warner Bros. EVP/GM Peter Gray will be exiting the label in the coming weeks. Expect New York-based SVP Promo wiz Dave Dyer and team to oversee promo duties as the transition takes place.
Dyer joined the Bunny in 2010, with a focus on Top 40 promo; he was upped to SVP in 2015. He began his career under Clive Davis, Richard Palmese, L.A. Reid and Steve Bartels at Arista, and subsequently moved to RCA as a regional.
Gray, considered one of the top promotion execs in the business, was upped to his current post in 2016, having previously been EVP/Head of Promo. Another Clive acolyte, he served at RCA Music Group for almost 10 years before joining Warner as SVP Promo in 2011. He began his career answering phones for indie promo king Lenny Lyons, and is believed to be one of the few people left alive who knows where many of the coffee cans were buried.
