U.K. MIDWEEKS: ABBA FEVER

The soundtrack for the Mamma Mia! sequel featuring ABBA songs, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (Polydor), has risen to #1 on the U.K.'s Official Albums midweek chart, with a further two related entries appearing in the Top 10. Over on singles, Drake is still #1.

After debuting at #4 on Friday, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again leads the first of three movie soundtracks in the Top 5 with The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) at #2 and the original Mamma Mia soundtrack at #5, rising from #13. ABBA’s Gold: Greatest Hits has also jumped 12 places to #7.

The highest new albums entry this week looks set to be Public Image Limited’s The Public Image is Rotten (Virgin) starting at #30. Following the release of Ye (Virgin EMI) on CD, Kanye West is back in the Top 40 at #36.

On the Official Singles midweek update, Drake with “In My Feelings” (Island) is 3.5k combined sales ahead of George Ezra with “Shotgun” (Columbia) at #2. Meanwhile, Jonas Blue f/Jack & Jack’s “Rise” (Virgin EMI) has risen three places to #3.

Further down, 5 Seconds Of Summer's “Youngblood” (Capitol) is up to #4 from #8, “Jackie Chan” (Virgin EMI) by Tiesto & Dzeko f/Preme & Post Malone is up four slots to #5, and Cardi B f/Bad Bunny and J Balvin's “I Like It” (Atlantic) rebounds to #8 from #11.

The 1975 are set to claim this week's highest new entry with their latest track, “Love It If We Made It” (Dirty Hit/Polydor), at #27.
