CHART STORY: DRAKE
DOES IT AGAIN

Drake’s Scorpion (YMCMB/Republic) is #1 on the HITS Top 50 Chart for a third consecutive week. Down a mere 18%, it pulls in another 266k. It’s also worth noting that Republic labelmate Post Malone remains in the Top 3, down just 4% in week 12 with approximately 68k.

The highest-charting debut—and the only one to make the Top 20 this week—belongs to Atlantic’s Wiz Khalifa, whose Rolling Papers 2 appears at #2 with 80k.

As for some of the most significant movers, Maroon 5’s Red Pill Blues (222/Interscope) breaks back into the Top 10 while the red-hot single, “Girls Like You” f/Cardi B, rockets #27-8 on our Song Revenue Chart. Taylor Swift’s reputation (Big Machine) rises #19-14 right before “Delicate” goes #1 at Pop radio. She played New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium this weekend and wraps her massive tour with two nights at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 64%, WMG follows with 25% and SME is #3 with 9%, while the indies claim 2%.

Streeting this week are sets from Columbia’s The Internet, Big Loud’s Mason Ramsey, CN/Triple TigersLori McKenna and 88rising/12 Tone’s 88rising, as well as Rick Astley.

On an unrelated note, it seems like plastic straws have officially been deemed wasteful and unnecessary scraps of villainy. In other words, we are the plastic straw of the music industry.
