REPUBLIC PLANTS BLOOD RED ROSES

Rod Stewart continues his recent deep dive into songwriting on his 30th studio album, Blood Red Roses, which Republic Records will release on 9/28. Stewart has written 13 songs and covered three on the album, his first in three years.

The album, co-produced by Stewart’s long-term collaborator Kevin Savigar, will be released nearly 50 years to the date of when he signed his very first solo recording contract. He’s also celebrating 35 years of being managed by Arnold Stiefel. The album’s first single, “Didn’t I,” was released today; it concerns the damage drugs can do from a parents’ point of view.

“‘I always think I make albums for a few friends and this record has that intimacy,” Stewart said. “Sincerity and honesty go a long way in life and the same is true in songwriting.”
