FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

With Drake holding down the #1 slots across the board at iTunes and Apple Music, all an act can hope for is #2. So who is it on this bright and sunny flipover Friday.

Wiz Khalifa turns up in the place position on iTunes albums with Rolling Papers 2 (Atlantic), a follow-up to the 2011 original. It’s #4 at Apple Music and is the week’s highest debut among the streamers.

Twenty One Pilots’ “Jumpsuit” (Atlantic), a Wednesday release, is #2 on the iTunes song chart where Ariana Grande’s “God is a woman” (Republic) has quickly ascended to #5 in the early hours after its late Thursday release. Could she challenge Drake for the top spot?

Another Wednesday release, Childish Gambino’s “Summertime Magic” (RCA), is the other newcomer to the Top 10; it is #7.

Back at albums, Slightly Stoopid’s ninth studio set Everyday Life, Everyday People (Stoopid) is #3 followed by the soundtrack to Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (Capitol), dominated by Lily James’ interpretations of ABBA songs. It’s #5.

Chris Lane’s third LP, Laps Around the Sun (Big Loud), is #6, Between the Buried and Me’s Automata II (Sumerian) digs in at #9, and Love Monster from Australian pop singer Amy Shark (RCA) is #10.
