In its attempt to achieve zero waste in 20 Live Nation venues by 2020, the concert promoter is expanding its in-venue staff education and instituting the seasonal position of Venue Sustainability Coordinator at 14 venues.
The Venue Sustainability Coordinator will be working with concessions partners and sub-vendors to ensure all food service ware is either reusable, compostable or recyclable, and assist with training venue staff in enhanced post-show waste sorting protocols. Among the venues employing the new position are Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J., and Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis.
The company recently instituted a “Sustainability Rocks” program and upgraded waste reduction practices, and is educating all venue staff through a specialized Zero Waste e-learning course.
