WON FOR THE MONEY IN LISA MARIE SUIT

Lisa Marie Presley’s lawsuit against a former business manager who, she says, let Elvis’ money leave the building will continue in probate court where it was initially filed.

Presley’s lawsuit against Barry Siegel will continue, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Wada ruled on Monday, denying Siegel’s motion to strike Presley’s petition. Another hearing on Presley’s petition has been set for 7/30.

Siegel’s lawyers had requested that the case move to civil court instead of probate court where Presley has it filed. In civil court, Siegel would have the right to a jury trial. Presley’s lawyers stated that probate court is the proper venues as her claims involve decisions Siegel made as a former trustee of the Presley trust.

When Presley filed the suit in February, she said she was down to $14k thanks to Siegel’s poor investment decisions. Siegel was behind Presley’s sale of Elvis Presley Enterprises in 2005, which he said netted her over $40m cash and a multi-million dollar income stream.
