JUNE IS KANYE MONTH (UPDATE)

As we all digest ye and assorted think pieces detailing our complicated relationship to Kanye West and his music, there’s no denying his voluminous output.

On 6/6, Kid Cudi released the artwork for the upcoming Kids See Ghosts collab with Kanye, dropping this Friday. Contemporary art hero Takashi Murakami offers some Graduation era nostalgia for the new album art.

Additionally on Wednesday, Kanye announced listening events in Brooklyn, Chicago and Miami, continuing the wave of Wyoming buzz.

Kids See Ghosts will be the latest volley in the G.O.O.D. Music onslaught that is June 2018. Package Ghosts with the Ye-produced Pusha-T album Daytona and West’s ye, and there’s 21 songs derived from Kanye’s Wyoming creative factory.

Add to that two more Kanye-produced sets: Rap legend Nas is on deck for Friday, and Teyana Taylor is slated for 6/22. All projects are 7 songs long (or short). We're told that seven is ultra-significant in numerology circles, because it's mystically associated with touchdowns. Or something.

Daytona debuted at #4 this week. ye topped the Apple Music, iTunes, and Spotify charts over the weekend.

So that's what Kanye's been up to. Meanwhile, the HITS editorial staff is still working on putting their crayons back in the box.
