U.K. MIDWEEKS: PAGING MR. HOWARD

This week it’s Ben Howard’s turn to challenge The Greatest Showman for this week's #1 album. At midweek, his Noonday Dream (Island) is sitting at #2 behind the Atlantic cast album on the Official Album Chart. Over on singles, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa have a challenger as well.

Back at albums, following Howard is Roger Daltrey with his first solo album in 26 years, As Long as I Have You (Polydor), at #3. This week’s Top 10 could see new entries from the Swedish metal act Ghost, whose Prequelle (Spinefarm) is #6, Kanye West at #7 with ye (Def Jam) and Father John Misty’s God's Favourite Customer (Subpop) at #8.

At singles, Jess Glynne’s “I’ll Be There” (Atlantic) is currently #2, up from #5, right behind Harris and Lipa’s “One Kiss” (Columbia/Warner Bros.). Glynne is already the British female solo artist with the most #1s, six, and could extend her record come Friday.

Clean Bandit & Demi Lovato’s “Solo” (Atlantic) is up two slots to #4 and George Ezra’s latest, “Shotgun” (Columbia), has blasted its way to #8 from #20. Dirty Hit/Polydor’s The 1975 are looking at the week’s highest new entry as “Give Yourself a Try” is #12.
