KG CHATS WITH A dB

Singer/songwriter, dB’s co-founder, producer and now author Chris Stamey will talk about his new book, A Spy in the House of Loud (University of Texas Press), with our own Karen Glauber Saturday (6/9) at Book Soup in WeHo. Set time is 5pm. Their conversation will be preceded by what’s described as a “musical book reading with cello, violin, and guitar,” as Stamey takes us back to the heady days of CBGB, where Television, Talking Heads, R.E.M. and other cutting-edge young bands de-glossed, roughed up transformed rock & roll.

Pretty in Punk, a slideshow of previously unseen images from mid- to late-'70s NYC shot by photographer Julia Gorton, will have its West Coast premiere prior to the Chris and Karen Show.
