PAUL BLOCH,
1939-2018

Paul Bloch, the Chairman of Rogers & Cowan who rose through the company’s ranks via its music department, died Friday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital after a long illness. He was 78.

A UCLA grad who started in the R&C mailroom in 1961, he rose to become president of the music department with clients such as The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart and Diana Ross among his clients. He spent his entire 58-year career at R&C.

In 1991, the Publicists Guild of America presented Bloch with its highest honor, the Les Mason Award.

Bloch was particularly adept at assisting superstars in moments of P.R. crises, handling Eddie Murphy, Tom Cruise and Lisa Marie Presley at moments when their public images were in need of repair.

Funeral services will be private and a memorial service is pending.
