A WEIGHTY HITS LIST

We don’t play favorites—we just call ’em like we see ’em. This week, there’s no doubt about who’s captured the attention of the biz, as streaming psycho Post Malone sets a bunch of records that will stand until his Republic labelmate Drake goes hard to the hoop like LeBron (sorry about your Raptors, Drizzy) in a month or so. Interscope head coach John Janick also has his squad on an extended roll, while UMG U.K. ruler David Joseph deftly moves the pieces around his chessboard.

But Uni isn’t the only powerhouse in the 2018 field as midyear approaches. Sony Music chieftain Rob Stringer and Live Nation heavyweight Michael Rapino are printing money, as is Daniel Ek’s Spotify—although Wall Street can be a perplexing bedfellow.
