ROMEO BUOYED
AT REPUBLIC

Lucas Romeo has been upped to VP, Top 40 Promo at Republic Records, reporting to EVP, Promo Gary Spangler.

In his elevated post, the NYC-based Romeo, formerly National Director of Top 40, will grind his guys, pretend to laugh at Shakespeare jokes and continue to use "ethos" in every other sentence.

Republic enjoyed a 23% Pop chartshare last year, per Mediabase.

"Lucas has not only built some of the strongest relationships at the format, but he also has a natural instinct to chart unique paths for each individual project to succeed," Spangler declared. "We look forward to Lucas leading our efforts at Top 40, and I’m proud to announce this well-deserved promotion. I hope he savors this moment before getting the fuck back on the phones."

"It’s an honor to be charged with the task of taking the best Top 40 team in the business to an even higher standard. I’d like to thank Monte, Avery, Gary and the rest of the team at Republic for giving me the opportunity," Romeo noted. "In my opinion, Gary has cultivated one of the most progressive cultures in promotion and I plan to continue the mindset he has instilled. Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for the most progressive tequila bath in radio history."
