LOLLA 2018: BRUNO! JACK! ABEL! ALEX!

Another summer’s coming, and with it another Lollapalooza, this one set for the first weekend of August at Chicago’s Grant Park.

As the spiffy poster indicates, the fest’s embrace of eclecticism continues apace with the 2018 lineup. The four headliners and five sub-headliners encompass the stylistic breadth of contemporary popular music, with Bruno Mars and The Weeknd representing R&B/pop, while Jack White and Arctic MonkeysAlex Turner vie for the title of Last of the Rock Stars, Travis Scott and Logic bring the rhymes, Odesza makes a case for the arty extreme of EDM, and The National and Vampire Weeknd fly the alternative flag, which was Lolla’s original stock in trade.

As usual, that’s just the tip of the iceberg, with confirmed acts ranging from Post Malone and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie to Dua Lipa and Camila Cabello.

Perry Farrell must be spinning in his grave…oh, wait—the fest’s co-founder is alive and well and on the bill.
