On the occasion of a set at Vevo’s SXSW showcase featuring his supergroup August Greene, Common joins Vevo Head of Music & Talent JP Evangelista for this evocative photo op, which was followed by a riveting conversation with a guy dressed like a giant Shiner Bock can. Rumors that the pair met up with HITS President Karen Glauber for an all-night Todd Rundgren singalong couldn’t be confirmed at presstime.

August Greene, it should be noted, also features producers Robert Glasper (keyboards) and Karriem Riggs (drums). The group formed after collaborating on a track for the acclaimed documentary 13th, which earned them an Emmy Award.
