ROSS GRIERSON,
1954-2018

Ross Grierson, a promotion and marketing executive based in Cincinnati, died Wednesday after a battle with cancer. He was 64.

His career in music spanned four decades, with stints at Globe Records, Elektra Records, A&M, Interscope, Epic and Island Def Jam Music Group.

He had his own company, Sixty Fifth Marketing & Consulting, and earlier had founded A-Team Promotions. Affectionately known as “Evil Roy,” he was also a revered and beloved mentor to generations of young music executives.

An industry-led celebration will be held in Cincinnati in April.
