U.K. MIDWEEKS: BRIT NOMINEES ON THE UP

BRIT Award nominees Dua Lipa, Rag’n’Bone Man, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Liam Gallagher and Stormzy are already seeing a boost on the Official Albums Charts ahead of the ceremony on Wednesday as Drake looks set to notch up a fifth week at #1 on singles with “God’s Plan” (Island).

After releasing an accompanying video, Drake has a lead of 2k combined sales on today’s Official Singles midweek update. Closest competitor is still “These Days” (Asylum) by Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Macklemore, which leads on downloads. That begins a Warner-heavy Top 5 that’s followed by Portugal. The Man with “Feel it Still” (Atlantic), which is currently up three places to #3. Dua Lipa follows at #4 with “IDGAF” (Warner Bros.) and “This is Me” (Atlantic) from The Greatest Showman soundtrack is down to #5.

YouTube star Samantha Harvey could land this week's highest new entry with her new single “Please” (Virgin EMI) at #27.

On the Official Albums midweeks, The Greatest Showman is holding on to #1 for what could be its seventh week at the summit. Ed Sheeran follows at #2 with ÷ (Asylum). The Temperance Movement are on course to claim this week’s highest new entry with A Deeper Cut (Earache) at #3.

BRITs five-time nominee Dua Lipa has risen seven places to #4 with her self-titled debut, while Camila Cabello is up nine places to #5 with her debut (Syco) following TV performances on The Graham Norton Show and Dancing On Ice over the weekend.

Elsewhere, Rag'n'Bone Man, who is up for three BRITs, is set to return to the Top 10 with Human (Columbia), currently up three to #9, while Taylor Swift, nominated for the International Female prize, rebounds nine spots to #11 with Reputation (Virgin EMI).

Kendrick Lamar, who is up for International Male and is currently touring the U.K., lifts eight places to #13 with DAMN. (Island); British Male nominee Liam Gallagher is also up eight places to #16 with As You Were (Warner Bros.). Stormzy jumps five places to #36 with Gang Signs & Prayer (#Merky), and Best International Group nominees Foo Fighters leap 15 places with their 2009 Greatest Hits at #38.
