U.K. CHARTS: SHOW GOES ON AND ON

The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic) is showing no signs of slowing down in the U.K. with the album spending its sixth week, and strongest yet, at #1 on the Official Albums Chart with 51k combined sales. Indie bands The Wombats (Kobalt) and Franz Ferdinand (Domino) end at #3 and #6 respectively.

Seventy percent of those 51k sales were physical and digital downloads. Over on Official Singles, The Greatest Showman track “This Is Me” rises three places to #3.

The Wombats’ fourth album, the self-released Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, matches their previous #3 peak with 2011’s Warner Music-issued This Modern Glitch, and betters the #5 peak Glitterbug charted at in 2015.

New Warner Bros. signing Mist finishes at #4 with his debut EP, Diamond in the Dirt, followed by the sophomore mixtape album from London rapper Fredo, Tables Turn (Since 93), at #5. Ed Sheeran is back at #2 with ÷ (Asylum).

Over on the Official Singles Chart, Drake claims a fourth stint at #1 with “God’s Plan” (Island) notching up 6.7m streams this week. “These Days” (Asylum) by Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Macklemore settles for second place.

“IDGAF” (Warner bros.) by Dua Lipa is at #4 and “Barking” (Polydor) by Ramz moves down to #5. “Friends” (Atlantic) by Marshmello and Anne-Marie is the highest new entry at #19.

Elsewhere, Liam Payne and Rita Ora’s “For You” (Capitol/Atlantic) for Fifty Shades Freed is up 10 places to #8 following the film’s release. Two songs from the Black Panther film compilation (Aftermath) rise, with The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar’s “Pray For Me” lifting two spots to #13, while Kendrick & SZA’s “All the Stars” is up 17 places to #11.
