NEIL AND KEN ON LORDE'S ABSENCE FROM PERFORMERS

Amid much online chatter about the exclusion of Lorde from the Grammy performance slate, show producer Ken Ehrlich and Recording Academy boss Neil Portnow gave us exclusive comments.

"It's always a matter of choices,” Ehrlich declared. “She had a great album and there's no way we can deal with everybody."

We have a wealth of wishes every year and we have to have a balanced show,” said Portnow. “Everyone involved thought this was balanced. We can’t have every nominee perform. What you saw was our best judgment.”
