DEF LEPPARD FINALLY GOES DIGITAL; SETS TOUR WITH JOURNEY

Def Leppard finally embraced the digital generation at the crack of midnight today, putting their entire catalog on streaming and download services for the first time; four of the albums are in iTunes Top 30. The release coincides with the announcement of a 58-date tour with Journey.

“It is with a mixture of relief and euphoria that we now see our entire catalog finally getting a digital release,” Joe Elliott said.

Fans have flocked immediately to Hysteria (#17), Vault: Def Leppard’s Greatest Hits (#22), Pyromania (#25) and High ‘n’ Dry (#26). Mercury released those albums originally; UMe is handling the reissue of the 15 titles.

Tickets will go on sale 2/3 for the Def Leppard-Journey tour that starts 5/21 in Hartford, Conn.., and wraps at The Forum in Los Angeles on 10/6. The tour will hit 10 stadiums, among them Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and the Giants’ AT&T Park.
