WHAT DISNEY ISN’T GETTING FROM FOX

Disney’s $52.4 billion deal to buy the bulk of Rupert Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox empire—announced Thursday morning and still subject to regulators’ approval—includes Fox’s movie and TV studio, the FX and National Geographic cable channels, and its 22 regional sports channels.

But Murdoch is holding onto the Fox TV network, Fox News, Fox Sports 1 and 2, The Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, The Times of London and a portfolio of properties in Murdoch’s native Australia under the umbrella of News Corp., in which the Murdoch family has a controlling 39% stake.
