Disney has two movies in the domestic box office Top 5, with Pixar's Coco at #1 and Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok at #5. No new releases can be found there this week, but A24's The Disaster Artist—the movie in which "[James] Franco achieves what could become his most iconic role," according to Variety—makes a stunning leap, moving #12-4 as it tacks on 821 theaters in wide release.

It's worth noting that, further down on the chart, Neon's much-talked-about and well-reviewed I, Tonya, which stars Margot Robbie as Tonya Harding, debuts at #19, earning close to $246k from just four theaters. The film will remain in limited release this coming weekend. Moviegoers can expect it to jump upon wider expansion, which BoxOfficeMojo claims will happen in the year.
