SYMPOSIUM TO FOCUS ON EMERGING-TECHNOLOGIES RIGHTS

Loyola Law School and the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Lawyers Association will host the symposium TechTainment 3.0: Technology + Entertainment on Friday, 11/17, at Loyola’s downtown campus.

The daylong event will feature panels assessing how to best manage artificial intelligence as an emerging piece of the entertainment landscape, negotiating deals for user-generated content and tracking music royalties in a digital world. The keynote lunch presentation will be delivered by Emmy- and Peabody-winning writer/producer Jonathan Shapiro (The Blacklist, The Practice, Boston Legal).

“TechTainment 3.0 seeks to answer some of the most challenging IP-law questions of our time,” said Prof. Jay Dougherty, conference co-organizer and panel moderator. “The day’s panels will help shape our understanding of how emerging technologies will impact the future of entertainment.”

Scheduled panels include “AI for Dummies,”“Livin’ on the Edge,”“The Wild West: Rights Disputes in the World of User-Generated Content” and “Emerging Music Issues in the Digital Ecosystem.”
