COLUMBIA CFO RUSSO UPPED TO EVP

Anyone rolling bags of cash into Columbia Records’ headquarters will continue to head directly to Stephen Russo’s office, but they’ll have a new title to address him by. Sony Music CEO Rob Stringer has promoted Russo to Executive Vice President in addition to being Chief Financial Officer for the label.

Previously Senior Vice President, Finance & Operations/Chief Financial Officer for Columbia Records, he will continue to oversee Columbia’s Finance & Operations, Marketing Financial Planning, Release Planning, Touring & Events, and Digital Production functions.

“Steve has played an indispensable leadership role in all of Columbia's financial and operational functions for many years," Stringer said. "He possesses a unique vantage point for seeing the big picture and the exceptional ability to strategically navigate today's diverse marketplace on behalf of the label."

A licensed CPA and CGMA, Russo joined Sony Music Entertainment in 1994. He joined Columbia Records in 2005 as VP, Finance & Operations, and became CFO in 2015.
