VICTOR OFFICIALLY JOINS DEF JAM AS EVP

It’s official: Steven Victor is joining Def Jam as Executive Vice President and Head of A&R. He joins the label’s senior executive team immediately.

Victor will continue running William Victor Management and serving as Chief Operating Officer of G.O.O.D Music while handling his Def Jam role. He most recently served as SVP of A&R for the Universal Music Group

Victor will be based in Def Jam’s New York offices and report to Paul Rosenberg, who will become CEO of the label on 1/1.

“I’m genuinely excited to continue Russell and Rick’s legacy of discovering and developing new artists while creating new opportunities for our incredible talent,” he said, tipping his Dodgers cap to Messrs. Simmons and Rubin.

Most recently, Victor signed, developed and helped break Desiigner. His first order of business is seeing if Justin Turner can rap.
