U.K. CHARTS: NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL #1

Shania Twain has come out on top in this week’s battle to be the top selling album in the U.K., taking the Official Albums Chart crown by fewer than 1,000 combined sales. Post Malone, meanwhile, easily secures his first #1 single in Blighty.

Twain’s Now (EMI) bested Wolf Alice’s Visions of a Life (Dirty Hit) by 764 combined sales. It is Twain’s second #1 album in the U.K., having hit the pinnacle in 1999 with Come On Over. It is only the second #1 album by a female artist released this year; Lana Del Rey’s Lust For Life was the first.

Following Wolf Alice is David Gilmour at #3 with Live At Pompeii (Columbia), Demi Lovato's Tell Me You Love Me (Hollywood) at #5 and Miley Cyrus Younger Now (RCA) at #8.

Sony Music CMG’s Halloween-themed Michael Jackson compilation Scream bags #9, and Feeder's The Best Of (BMG) retrospective debuts at #10.

Following Tom Petty’s untimely death Monday, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits (Geffen) re-enters at 14, the band’s first entry in the Top 40 since Hypnotic Eye debuted at #7 in 2014.

On the singles side, Post Malone f/21 Savage’s “Rockstar” (Republic) accumulated a huge 5.7m streams this week. His next single, “I Fall Apart,” debuts at #40.

Sam Smith’s “Too Good at Goodbyes” (Capitol) slips to #2, Camila Cabello’s “Havana” (Epic/SYCO) swaps slots with Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” (Warner Bros.) and Avicii and Rita Ora’s “Lonely Together” (Positiva) climbs three rungs to #5.

Logic f/Alessia Cara and Khalid’s “1-800-273-8255” (Virgin) makes its way into the Top 10 for the first time, dialing up at #9. Bestie,” the breakthrough single for RCA's Yungen f/Yxng Bane, is new at #10.
